Size... I am going to edit it. These things can grow to huge sizes - the New England Aquarium in Boston had several easily 50.8cm (20") long last I was there. But maybe those were a different species? Pacu, perhaps?

I have seen Pacu that big before, but not silver dollars. LiveAquaria says 12.7cm (5") as well--Brian 08:54, 17 February 2011 (EST)
You may be right. (That's why in the end I didn't edit it). But I have seen them bigger than 6-odd inches, in tanks with overgrown oscars and catfish, etc. Of course, they might not have been this species. Huw Powell 22:07, 17 February 2011 (EST)
